Frequently Asked Questions
What does remote therapy look like?
Remote therapy can look different at different ages and is dependent on your child's age and needs. Younger children might have lower attention spans and benefit from music, interactive games, and parent coaching on techniques to improve language during play. Older children may be able to attend to longer sessions and more structured therapy activities.
How long are the sessions?
Sessions are generally 30 minutes or 45 minutes in length. It is dependent on your child's age and attention. During the evaluation, the SLP will give recommendations on session length and frequency to help your child meet their goals!
Will there be homework?
A big part of success on goals is based on parent involvement and generalizing throughout the week. Your SLP may suggest activities or provide you with weekly resources to implement at home.
Does my child need AAC?
How do I get started? Alternative and Augmentative Communication devices can be very helpful to increase communication in children that are verbally limited. Once a speech and language evaluation is completed- your SLP will discuss the options and recommendations to start implementing visual supports and AAC and can assist with guiding you through the AAC process including: trialing, device recommendations, and parent training.
Do you accept insurance?
I currently accept Idaho Blue Cross and Medicaid. If you would like to bill insurance for an out of network insurance company, I am happy to provide clients with a superbill. I also accept private pay.
